 We celebrated Dad's birthday dinner at Jumbo, Serangoon Garden Country Club & happened to see this painting hanging on the wall selling for 600$. A simple drawing that brings back lots of memories for my whole family. Every one of us grew up there in that old building lying along Balastier Road, my Grandfather, my Dad&Aunts, my siblings & I, even all the way before my dad and mum being tgt as one. The picture portrays exactly the same as how the whole shophouse used to be in the past, no changes made over the 50 years & its really quite rundown like what you can see. Today, it has been renovated & the owner took it back. In between the years is for me & the Loys to know. (: At the end of the day, we didnt buy the painting coz brother say he saw a better picture before painting whole shophouse for only 1000$. Donno if we have a chance to get it, whatever it is fate will tells us. |
